Biography

Bob started umpiring in 1927 and umpired in twelve ASA nationals. He served as Metro Indianapolis Umpire-in-Chief from 1941 to 1981. He formed the Indianapolis Umpire Association in 1944 and was co-owner of the Metropolitan Softball Stadium from 1962 to 1986.

He was a manager at Johnson Chevrolet Body Shop for 20 years, retiring in 1987, and a member of the Ancient Landmark Masonic Lodge in addition to being a lifetime member of the ASA.

Bob died in December 1989 at age 78 at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis.
